“Nobojagoroner Ogrodut” — A Documentary Film by Masud Karim

Bangladeshi documentary filmmaker Masud Karim is currently producing a documentary on the life, work, and enduring legacy of Raja Rammohan Roy, one of the foremost pioneers of the Bengal Renaissance.

The documentary will explore Raja Rammohan Roy’s remarkable contributions to women’s rights across the Indian subcontinent, social reform, the development of modern society, newspaper publishing, and other significant areas of public life. It will also seek to uncover lesser-known stories and aspects of his life and work that deserve greater recognition.

As part of his research and filming, Masud Karim has visited Bristol, United Kingdom, three times. During these visits, he filmed several historically significant locations associated with Raja Rammohan Roy, including Beech Road, where he spent his final days, and Arnos Vale Cemetery, where he was laid to rest. Masud Karim also filmed a statue of Raja Rammohan Roy at Bristol Cathedral, capturing another important historical connection to his life and legacy.
